Connie Britton: ‘Friday Night Lights’ Movie Is ‘Happening For Realsies’

“Friday Night Lights” first hit the big screen in 2004, then went to the small screen on NBC and DirecTV for five seasons and now, according to series star Connie Britton, it’s returning to the big screen once again.

“It’s happening for realsies,” Connie, who is now starring in FX’s “American Horror Story, told Us Weekly.

According to the Emmy nominee, the show’s executive producer and original film’s director, Peter Berg, is ready to revisit the football world of Dillon, Texas.

“Pete is totally fired up to do it and I know Jason Katims is talking about writing a script. I think it’s really a matter of… getting everyone’s busy schedules aligned and making it happen,” the actress continued. “It kind of feels like there’s a lot of commitment to it.”

No word on if recent Emmy winner Kyle Chandler or any of her other co-stars are game for some big screen football, but Connie said she’s completely onboard.

“I, for one, will do my part in trying to push it along,” she added.
