Connie Britton’s Hair Secret Finally Revealed In Hilarious Video! (Watch)

For years, “Friday Night Lights” alum and current “Nashville” star Connie Britton has inspired envy with her full, luscious hair.

Now, after years of being asked to reveal the secret to her voluminous locks on endless red carpets, the actress has gifted the world with the answer: feminism!

In a shampoo commercial spoof video with “Nashville” co-star Laura Benanti, Connie says, “After years of being asked about my healthy, shiny hair, I am thrilled to share my beauty secret with you. It’s feminism!”

“When used regularly, feminism has been used to produce amazing results, such as a woman’s right to vote, a woman’s right to her own body, a woman’s right to become a kick-ass athlete, the Violence Against Women Act, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act and more!” Connie continues in the clip, while holding a shampoo bottle labeled “Feminism.”

Asks Laura, “But what if I don’t need feminism?”

“Oh trust me, girl, you do,” answers Connie.

The funny faux ad, part of the 2015 #AskHerMore campaign (which encourages the media to ask women questions beyond their appearance on red carpets), even includes a list of possible feminism side effects, including “passage of the equal-rights amendment; closing the wage-equality gap; providing an education to the 62 million girls worldwide currently denied one; a culture where gender-based violence is considered unacceptable, perpetrators are held accountable, and victims are not shamed; a fair budget for women’s reproductive health; the wisdom to ignore angry rants in the comments section, and dry mouth.”

In a statement to Access Hollywood on Wednesday, Laura — who directed, wrote and co-produced the video — said she’s been a “great admirer” of Connie for “many years.”

“Not only do I respect her as an actress and humanitarian but I am a pretty big fan of her gorgeous mane of hair! Working with Connie on ‘Nashville’ I was struck by her hilarious sense of humor, and her wonderful feminist spirit,” Laura shared. “I felt a video that played on our collective ‘Connie Britton hair obsession’ would be a great and funny way to talk about feminism and how women are portrayed in the media. This video was made possible by my wonderful collaborator and producing partner Ashley Van Buren and the Representation Project. #AskHerMore.”

Catch Connie and Laura on “Nashville,” when Season 4 premieres Wednesday, September 23 at 10/9c on ABC.
