Corey Haim Laid To Rest In Toronto; Emotional 911 Call Released

As actor Corey Haim was laid to rest in his native Toronto on Tuesday, the emotional 911 call made by his mother the morning of the actor’s death was also released.

In the heartbreaking 10-minute call, his mother Judy Haim is heard telling the 911 operator that her son is “not moving” as she pleads for help.

“I think my son is dead,” an emotional Judy tells the dispatcher. “He’s not breathing. I don’t know what is going on. He had a fever this morning.”

The operator instructs her to move Corey from his bed to the floor and walks her through the steps to begin performing CPR.

“I’m alone with my son and I don’t know what I’m doing,” she says, her voice full of tears. “I’m doing this and I don’t think it’s helping at all… he’s not moving.

“He all of a sudden got out of bed and wanted to go to the bathroom and he fell on the floor and I put him on the bed and that was it. His eyes went backwards,” she continued.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Corey’s mother called paramedics in the early hours of March 10, after her son – who had been suffering from flu-like symptoms in the days prior – collapsed inside the Los Angeles-area apartment the two shared.

Once paramedics arrived – nearly 10 minutes after the 911 call was placed — Corey was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank, Calif., where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 AM.

Corey was 38.

Also on Tuesday, a funeral service was held for the late actor his native Toronto – six days after his death.

A family friend who was in attendance at Tuesday’s funeral for Corey told Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos that the service was a “beautiful, small, private, quiet affair” with his family and closest friends. In addition, the hearse carrying the actor’s casket received a police escort with officers saluting him at every intersection between the mortuary and the gravesite.

While friends and family gathered for Corey’s funeral on Tuesday, one longtime friend absent was Corey Feldman, who previously announced he would not be in attendance.

“In the days following my best friend Corey Haim’s death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me. I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey’s funeral, however due to their strong religious beliefs, and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey’s funeral on Tuesday a small private affair,” Feldman said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

However, Feldman noted he was planning a Los Angeles memorial for his late friend.

In an interview with Maria following her son’s death, Judy Haim said that the LA County Coroner’s Office told her an autopsy on the former teen idol found he had an enlarged heart and his lungs were filled with water.

The autopsy ruled his cause of death as pulmonary congestion.

In addition, the Coroner’s Office confirmed that prescription bottles containing four different medications were taken from the actor’s room.

In a previous interview with Maria, Judy also noted she planned on moving out of the Los Angeles-area apartment she shared with Corey in order to move back to Toronto, so she could be closer to her son’s final resting place.

Judy also said she wanted to be closer to Corey’s sister, Cari, who gave birth to a baby girl on Monday.
