Country Band Rascal Flatts Having The Best Week Ever

The Billboard Music Awards are this Monday in Las Vegas and Rascal Flatts could turn out to be the big winner.

They have five nominations including overall artist of the year and overall group. They also are nominated for country album of the year with “Me and My Gang.”

Carrie Underwood’s “Some Hearts” and Kenny Chesney’s “The Road and the Radio” are also in the running. Chesney, Toby Keith and Tim McGraw are up for male country artist of the year. Underwood, Faith Hill and Gretchen Wilson are vying for female country artist.

Rascal Flatts is one of only three country artists in 45 years to land two different songs at number one on two different radio charts in the same week.

“My Wish” is the band’s sixth number one country single. It tops the Mediabase
country chart this week. “What Hurts The Most” holds onto the top slot in its third week at number one on the AC chart.

Rascal Flatts joins Faith Hill and the Dixie Chicks as the only country artists to accomplish that feat.
