Country Star Miranda Lambert Dishes On Grammy Nomination & Fiance Blake Shelton

Country star Miranda Lambert is enjoying her incredible recent music success, but she’s definitely looking forward to taking an even bigger step – marrying her fiancé and fellow country superstar, Blake Shelton.

“I’m looking forward to getting married,” Miranda said, at a press conference after the 2011 Grammy nominations were announced. “You know, just doing it. We’ve been engaged six months already now and it’s kind of flown by. [I’m looking forward to] just taking that next step and becoming a woman and moving on in life.”

The country cutie is nominated for a Grammy for her hit ballad, “The House That Built Me” – a song originally meant for her fiance, Blake.

“I’m so lucky that I was the one who got my hands on it,” Miranda said of the popular tune. “The song was pitched to Blake originally for him to cut it, and when I heard the song, it just hit me so hard.

“I had a crazy reaction, and I started bawling,” she continued. “It takes a lot for me to get to a crying point when I listen to music, but it was just one of those songs where I had this feeling about it.”

After witnessing the success that has followed “The House That Built Me”– Miranda nabbed two Country Music Association awards last month for the nostalgic ballad – the 27-year-old star wonders if her man may regret passing up the tune.

“Luckily, I have a great fiance who handed it over to me,” Miranda smiled. “I’m sure he wants it back at this point.”

Miranda and Blake, 34, who have been dubbed “The next Faith [Hill] and Tim [McGraw]” by the media, began dating in 2006. The power pair, who frequently collaborate with each other on their respective albums, became engaged in May.
