Country Stars Step Out To Welcome President George W. Bush Home

While millions are out in a wintry Washington D.C., celebrating the Inauguration of President Barack Obama today, a host of music stars are preparing to welcome exiting President George W. Bush home.

Country stars including Rodney Atkins and Lee Greenwood are among those who will honor President Bush and his wife Laura, who departed Washington D.C. on Tuesday afternoon.

The former First couple will head to Midland, Texas where more than 20,000 are expected to celebrate his return at around 5:30 PM local time.

“The president said at the White House Christmas party that he left from Midland and was coming home to Midland because we’re the ones who are his friends and great supporters and he wanted to be with us when he left Washington,” County Republican Chair Sue Brannon told the Midland Reporter Telegram. “It shows what a fine gentleman he is. He has faced a lot and kept the faith.”
