Annie Walker and Auggie Anderson finally got together in last week’s Season 4 premiere of “Covert Affairs,” but their romantic encounter took place somewhere entirely different than actress Piper Perabo was expecting.
“It’s been years in the making, that love scene, and I never actually thought it would happen at Annie’s house, ‘cause Annie’s above-the-garage apartment is not the romantic [location] that I [imagined] their first love scene would be [in],” Piper laughed, while speaking with reporters last month after USA flew AccessHollywood.com up to the Toronto set, where they made us their guests.
Piper said she expected the TV couple’s first love scene to take place in somewhere like Bali or Paris, but said that although it happened right in Annie’s home, it still made her happy.

“It was still really fun and really cool,” she said.
Christopher Gorham, who plays Auggie on the show, said he too thought it all worked out beautifully.
“I thought it was great,” he told reporters during the same set visit. “I felt like it’s the natural progression of that relationship. You have these two people who really deeply care for each other and if they’re free, that’s where the relationship’s gonna go. I think it’s great and I like how we did it. I think it’s beautiful.”
Now that Annie and Auggie are together, the challenge is how to make it work with two demanding jobs.
“I was really excited to see how it would work,” Piper said. “As a woman who has a sort of high powered job myself I know how complicated a relationship can be even if it’s with somebody you’re working with. Your hours are long, the stresses are crazy and so I kinda wanted to see how the ‘Covert Affairs’ writers would imagine that.”
“I think it’s also an interesting thing to explore especially if your partner is also in a high-powered stressful job and how do you kind of manage that and keep it romantic and spontaneous,” she added. “I like the possible conflict as [well], because they make so much sense together as operative and handler, does it shift when you try and put romance in?”
