The holiday season may be over, but the spirit of goodwill continued at the Sofitel hotel in West Hollywood this past weekend when CVS Pharmacy donated $100,000 between two charities supported by Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush and Nancy O’Dell.
At Access Hollywood’s Stuff You Must Lounge at the Sofitel, Billy was emotional as reps for CVS presented him with a check for the Lollipop Theatre Network, an organization which brings movies to children hospitalized with life-threatening illness.
“What a tremendous honor,” Billy said as he picked up the generous donation with a little help from former “American Idol” finalist, Katharine McPhee.
The two sang a brief rendition of Josh Groban’s “You Lift Me Up,” as rather coincidentally, the recent chart-topping singer walked into the Stuff You Must Lounge.
Nancy too was thrilled with the donation to her beloved Best Buddies, an organization that works to help enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.
“I am so excited that Best Buddies is receiving this very generous donation,” Nancy enthused. “I know personally what a great charity it is. My Aunt Ellen was a person with Down Syndrome and Best Buddies enhances the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. Best Buddies puts smiles on the faces of so many and this donation will help the organization to continue doing its beautiful work!”
The generous contribution from CVS came as the result of the heavy presence of stars who came out to pick up free swag at the Stuff You Must Lounge.
For each star that came, CVS upped their contribution.
Among the stars that hit the event to pick up makeup, bags, clothes, drinks, jewelry, perfume and movie passes included “Gossip Girl’s” Penn Badgley, “Chuck’s” Zachary Levi, and Joshua Gomez, “Californication’s” Rachel Miner, legend Joan Collins, “Ugly Betty’s” Michael Indelicato and Tony Plano, “Dirty Sexy Money’s” Tamara Feldman, “Lost’s” Nestor Carbonell, former “Ghost Whisperer” star Aishah Tyler, former “The Practice” star Kelli Williams, and “Ally McBeal’s” Greg Germann.
