Dakota Johnson Mocks ‘Fifty Shades’ On ‘SNL’

Dakota Johnson hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the first time this weekend, and the “Fifty Shades of Grey” star kicked off the show by mocking her own movie.

“For those of you who don’t know me, I’m currently starring in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,'” she began in her opening monologue. “‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ is the novel that made you never want to touch your mother’s Kindle again.”

Speaking of mothers, the actress’ mom, Melanie Griffith (and dad, Don Johnson), were in the “SNL” audience as Dakota joked that life has changed drastically since the movie hit – her dry cleaner now refuses to look her in the eye.

The actress also mocked the film’s lukewarm reception by critics, saying, “I have a funny feeling at next year’s Oscars, it’s going to be… not… anywhere,” she said.

The 25-year-old also revealed that Studio 8H is an important place for her family, because “in December of 1988, my mother stood in this exact spot and hosted ‘SNL,'” adding that after the show, “my father got down on one knee and proposed to her for the second time. And exactly nine months later I was born.”

“So I must’ve been conceived that night after the show or even during the show. Isn’t that right you guys?” she asked Don and Melanie, who were jokingly covering their eyes in the audience.

“We were afraid you were going to be naked,” Don said.
