Dancing Runner-Up Katherine Jenkins To Tour, Spend More Time In U.S.

Classical singer Katherine Jenkins lost the mirrorball to Donald Driver Tuesday night on “Dancing with the Stars,” but that doesn’t mean the British beauty has any intention of leaving the U.S. for good.

“I’m definitely hoping to spend more time here now,” the dazzling 31-year-old Welsh singer told Access Hollywood at the “DWTS” Season 14 finale in Los Angeles on Tuesday. “I’ve got some tours that are going to be happening here this year.”

But Katherine will have to return to the UK to sing at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration before she can travel the U.S.

“I have to go back initially to the UK because I’m singing for the Queen but I’m hoping to spend more time [stateside] throughout the year,” she said. “I’m going to be involved with the Olympics as well, so it’s going to be a really good time to be in the UK.”

As for her runner-up title on “Dancing,” Katherine said she’s thrilled, as she never expected to make it to the finals.

“I honestly feel really, really proud because I, I came into this wondering if anybody would vote past the first elimination,” she said. “Never did I think we would come in second and it’s really down to [partner] Mark [Ballas] and his hard work.”
