‘Dancing With The Stars’: Mischa Barton Talks Elimination

Mischa
Barton has left the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom.

The
actress, and her pro partner, Artem Chigvintsev, were eliminated from the
competition on Monday night, the second pair to go home during Season 22.

“It
just literally was a really tough beginning and it was just something
completely out of my comfort zone and the live aspect of last week went
really poorly,” Mischa told Access Hollywood after the show. “When
things like that happen… what can you do?

“We got a little knocked last week in a way that was hard to recover
from,” she added.

“Well,
[the] last two weeks,” Artem added.

“No,
completely. But… we just decided to have fun and throw it all away — I did…
because I wanted to do so well and I wanted to take it so seriously and I think
at a certain point you just have to be enjoying yourself,” Mischa said.

The
former “O.C.” star said she decided to enter the Season 22
competition to try something different.

“It’s
just something really far out of my comfort zone,” she said.

“I came
off of film, I came into this. I literally landed at the airport and came
to meet Artem and started doing this dance training and… that part of it has been an
amazing experience,” she continued. “I’ve enjoyed getting to know these dancers and how
dedicated they are to what they do and it’s something now that I have a much
better grasp on and what their world is and what [the dancers] are like.”

Mischa plans to continue dancing following her time on the ABC show.

“It’s
so fun and it is addictive and I think it’s nice to just keep that mind-body
connection because actors get very in their own heads with writing and reading
and it’s not the same thing,” she said.

“Dancing with the Stars” continues Mondays at 8/7c
on ABC.
