‘Dancing With The Stars’: Antonio Sabato Jr. Calls Journey ‘Amazing’

Antonio Sabato Jr. and Cheryl Burke are hanging in there on “Dancing with the Stars,” and managing to keep a positive attitude week after week.

“It is [hard],” Antonio said on Friday of practicing and competing week after week, as he appeared on Access Hollywood Live on Friday. “But it’s also just glorifying. It’s just amazing. Dancing with this amazing person right here, [Cheryl, who] I can call a friend now, it’s been incredible. The fanbase, dancing for my family, my wife and my kids are there… it’s just been an incredible journey.”

While the schedule is hard, Cheryl, Antonio’s pro partner, said she tries to make sure the star is enjoying his time on the show.

“I just tell him to have fun with the whole process. It’s so hard, I’m telling him a million other things and, ‘Okay, have fun,'” Cheryl explained.

Recently the judges on “DWTS” said Antonio was too stiff in his performance, but Cheryl didn’t agree. She thought their routine on Monday was his best so far.

“They really want him to do well, I can feel that,” Cheryl said. “So they’re giving constructive criticism so we can take back, but I feel like this was his best dance and he didn’t get his best scores.”

“We’ll try again Monday. We’ve got something really cool lined up,” Antonio added.

As for what that might entail?

“We’re doing lifts this week and all kinds of stuff,” Antonio said.
