Kellie Pickler might not have won her season of “American Idol,” but the country singer was the best dancer to strut across the floor on Season 16 of “Dancing with the Stars” – something she was still in shock about when she chatted with Access Hollywood.
“What the heck just happened here? First time ever I’ve been at a loss for words,” a stunned and elated Kellie told Access after her big win, where she bested fellow competitors Zendaya, Jacoby Jones and Aly Raisman.
“This show is just so overwhelming in a great way. There’s just so much going and it’s been such an amazing and emotional and just crazy rollercoaster ride of a journey and it’s just been an unbelievable experience,” the 26-year-old continued.

Her partner Derek Hough couldn’t have been happier with their win.
“This is an absolute validation and the cherry on top… Everybody was so great. Everybody was so amazing and to know that the viewers got behind us and we connected with them somehow, so thank you,” the pro dancer, who previously took home the trophy with Brooke Burke in Season 7, Nicole Scherzinger in Season 10 and Jennifer Grey in Season 11, said.

Kellie took a moment to thank her partner for all of his work and help.
“Derek is so amazing and I am so blessed to just have him as a part of my life and we’ve had so much fun together and I’m overwhelmed with joy and thank you all so much,” she gushed.
“Everybody that watched the show and voted and just thank you all so much. I’m so happy right now!”
Adding, I think I just might [cry]. I think I’m still in shock. I don’t even know what is happening right now!”
