“Dancing with the Stars” pro Mark Ballas is spilling the details about his date with recently booted “American Idol” contestant Pia Toscano.
Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson caught up with Mark after Monday’s show, where the ballroom hunk dished details on his recent night out with he 22-year-old big-voiced brunette.
“She’s lovely and she’s very talented,” Mark said. “I watch ‘American Idol,’ always have, she was my favorite, she was my pick to win and I actually voted too, because I know what it’s like when you don’t vote, you get eliminated.”
Mark said he was sad to see his “Idol” pick sent packing from the FOX reality competition that films next to his ABC reality competition in Los Angeles.
“We kind of we went out with a group and it was a few of us there… it’s where we kind of met and had a little chat and she’s a lovely girl,” he continued. “I was super bummed for her getting eliminated, I thought she was going to win.”
“You said, ‘You can sing really well and you’re hot,’” Shaun joked.
“I definitely didn’t say that,” Mark explained. “I didn’t say that, but she’s lovely.”
Adding, “We were all just having dinner. It was like a simple dinner and then we left.”
Shaun also caught up with “DWTS” contestant Chris Jericho on Monday, who helped the duo meet.
“I know [Idol’s] James Durbin and I was visiting during rehearsal and she walked by and said, ‘Hi.’ She said, ‘I wish Mark Ballas was here I like him,’ I said, ‘Oh,’ went back and asked Mark if he had a girlfriend he said, ‘No.’ I called James, she got his number and I got the number and gave it to him,” Chris explained. “It’s not like I was out looking for a date for Mark.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, a source had confirmed to Access that Mark and Pia enjoyed a night out together last week, dining at Gulfstream restaurant in Century City, Calif.
On Monday, Pia kept mum on the details of her date with Mark, saying, “He’s a really, really sweet guy. He’s a really nice guy…we’re just friends.”
