Daniel Craig: No ‘Interest’ In Playing ‘Thor’

James Bond may be a super spy, but Daniel Craig wants to make one thing clear – he has no interest in playing a superhero.

Craig, who had been rumored to be in line to play the title character in the live-action comic book movie, “Thor,” told Access Hollywood that fans shouldn’t hold their breath.

“I read that you are possibly up to play Thor,” AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman asked Craig, during an interview to promote his new film, “Defiance.”

“No,” the British actor laughed.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, “Grey’s Anatomy” actor Kevin McKidd is one of the actors in talks to play the Norse god on the big screen. And while Craig, along with Brad Pitt, had also been rumored to be in line to play the role, the 007 star said it’s safe to cross his name off the list.

“Doesn’t interest you?” Laura asked. “When you’re Bond, you don’t want to be a superhero?”

“It doesn’t interest me at all,” Craig revealed.

So what does interest Craig, who plays one of three Jewish brothers who escape a Nazi-occupied Poland in his new drama “Defiance?”

“Taking a holiday,” the actor said. “All I want to do is take a holiday at the moment.”
