Dave Matthews Band To Debut New Songs On New Tour

With pre-sale tickets available beginning today for Dave Matthews Band’s 2008 tour, summer is clearly just around the corner. This year’s outing will commence with a two-night stand at Post-Gazette Pavilion in Burgettstown, PA (May 30 and 31) and conclude with three consecutive dates at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA (September 5, 6 and 7). Opening acts will vary by city and include The Black Crowes, Willie Nelson, Gomez, State Radio, Paolo Nutini and Ingrid Michaelson.

Pre-sale tickets will be available to Dave Matthews Band fan club members beginning today at Noon EST at: http://www.warehouse.davematthewsband.com. Tickets for most shows will go on sale to the general public on March 29.

Concertgoers will be the first to hear the latest material from Dave Matthews Band, as the group debuts songs from its forthcoming record. The chart-topping band is currently in the studio with producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Alanis Morissette), working on the yet-to-be-titled album, which is the follow-up to 2005’s Stand Up, the fourth consecutive Dave Matthews Band studio record to debut at #1 on The Billboard 200. Guitarist and longtime friend Tim Reynolds is playing on the album, marking his first recording with the band since 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets.

Dave Matthews Band – comprised of Carter Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass), Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar), LeRoi Moore (saxophone) and Boyd Tinsley (violin) – has sold a collective 35 million units (CD and DVD combined) since the 1994 release of its major label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming.

Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk, an upcoming MacGillivray Freeman Films release for IMAX Theatres and IMAX 3D Theatres, will feature songs and music from Dave Matthews Band. Bassist Stefan Lessard composed and arranged the film’s musical score with longtime MacGillivray Freeman collaborator Steve Wood, and the pair recruited Carter Beauford, Boyd Tinsley and Tim Reynolds to play on the score. Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk raises awareness about world water issues and will premiere on March 14th, in anticipation of World Water Day (March 22nd).
