David Hasselhoff Leaves ‘America’s Got Talent’ For His ‘Own TV Show’

David Hasselhoff will not be returning to “America’s Got Talent” this coming summer, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The actor announced on Wednesday night he is saying goodbye to the hit NBC reality competition he has been a part of for four years.

“I am proud that I was part of making ‘America’s Got Talent’ the No. 1 rated show for the past four summers,” David told People in a statement.

The Hoff said he will actually be leaving the judges’ panel, which he’s shared with Brits Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan, in order to kick off a new project.

“It’s been a rewarding experience and now I’m thrilled to be able to follow my dream to do my own TV show, which will be announced very shortly,” David’s statement continued.

And on Wednesday night, NBC released a statement over David’s departure.

“David’s been an integral part of the success of ‘America’s Got Talent’ and we are sad to see him go. We wish him all the best with his new show,” the network statement read.

Auditions for the fifth season of “America’s Got Talent” began in the fall. It was unclear at press time if The Hoff was present during October open calls in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York.

NBC sources told Access Hollywood on Wednesday evening that they will be seeking a new judge to fill David’s seat, however, no candidates have been selected at this point.
