David Hasselhoff Says No To Thongs On ‘Dancing,’ Ready For ‘The Situation’

For more than a decade, David Hasselhoff donned a host of red swimming trunks on “Baywatch,” but despite still being a hunk of a man at 58, there’s one thing he won’t be doing for “Dancing with the Stars” – donning a tiny mankini under his dance pants.

“I guess you have to wear a thong. I can’t wear a thong,” David told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live. “You gotta wear a thong on this show!”

David explained that he learned about the potential “DWTS” man panties idea when he visited a tailor for the show in downtown Los Angeles.

“I go to see the tailor and he’s like, ‘What kind of underwear are you wearing?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, I wear underwear.’ He says, ‘You cannot wear this underwear, you must show your butt,’” David explained. “I’m going… ‘Relax on my underwear, dude!’”

Beyond costume issues, the former “America’s Got Talent” judge revealed that preparing with professional partner Kym Johnson for the reality dancing competition, which premieres on Monday, has been tough.

“It’s mentally draining, but it’s a lot of fun working with her,” he said.

When asked if he considers “Jersey Shore’s” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino competition, David said he isn’t thinking of anyone as a dance floor rival.

“My competition’s me, not ‘The Situation,’” he said. “All I know is there’s no situation I can’t handle.”

David revealed he wasn’t even aware of the MTV reality star when he first encountered him at a “DWTS” event.

“I [didn’t] even know who ‘The Situation’ was. I don’t watch TV, I do TV,” David said. “He kind of walked in… and I said, ‘Who is that?’ and they said, ‘That’s ‘The Situation.’ I go, ‘OK.’”
