Dean McDermott Speaks Out Following Motorcycle Crash

Just days after being hospitalized in the intensive care unit following a motorcycle accident, Dean McDermott is speaking out about his ordeal.

“Thanks for all the well wishes. I think I will be out of the ICU tomorrow. It’s a slow recovery, but I am well on my way,” Dean, husband of Tori Spelling, wrote in a Tweet on Thursday. “Tuesday I went out for a dirt bike ride with my friends, I ended smashing my chest into my bars as I went over the front of the bike.”

Dean wrote that he wasn’t sure how the motorcycle mishap went down.

“It was a freak accident. We still can’t figure out what happened. None the less, I have a collapsed lung and bad bruising on my right side,” he continued in another Tweet. “Oh, and 3 stitches in my right butt cheek where a stone got imbedded. Let’s just say, I won’t be dirt biking anymore.”

Tori also took to her Twitter, writing, “R family thanks all of U so much 4 your well wishes&prayers 4 @deanracer !Means so much 2 us!Will keep u updated on Dean’s condition… Kids and I are about to go see @deanracer He’s been moved from ICU to a regular room! Yay! I’ll tell him everyone sends their love!”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, a rep for Tori told Access, “He’s expected to make a full recovery. [He] will remain in ICU for a few more days.”

Dean previously fractured his shoulder while riding his motorcycle in January.
