Debbie Gibson & Tiffany To Brawl in Syfy’s ‘Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid’

In news better than the return of acid washed jeans and Day-Glo bracelets – Debbie Gibson and Tiffany will finally fight – at least on the small screen in an upcoming Syfy original movie.

On Thursday, Syfy announced that the ‘80s pop stars would square off in the upcoming made-for-TV movie “Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid,” which is slated to start shooting later this month.

Debbie portrays a fanatical animal rights advocate who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores, sending them into the Everglades where the pythons become mega-sized.

Fellow pop star Tiffany has been cast as an over-zealous park ranger worried about the growing ecological damage. To save her beloved alligators, she employs dangerous methods, setting off a war between the species – and putting her on a collision course with the woman she used to battle on the pop charts.

“I know that pop culture fanatics have been dying for Tiffany and me to collaborate for the past 24 years! What better way to do it than by battling each other in a campy romp through the Everglades?” Debbie said in a statement released to Access Hollywood.

“Only in my dreams have I been able to have a catfight with Debbie Gibson…until now!” Tiffany said in a statement. “This is soo MEGA Cool!”

This isn’t the first time these ‘80s icons have faced oversized monsters. Tiffany starred in 2010’s “Mega Piranha,” while Debbie starred in 2009’s “Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus.”
