Demi Lovato Feels Like Proud ‘Parent’ To Former X Factor Finalists

Demi Lovato is only 20 years old, but she’s already feeling maternal, thanks to her job as a judge on Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor.”

“I just got to see Fifth Harmony’s music video and I, literally when I started watching it, I started tearing up,” the “Heart Attack” singer told Access Hollywood at “The X Factor” Season 3’s Los Angeles auditions, referencing the all-girls group who placed third last season. “It was because I had been there from day one.

“It’s that proud, almost parent feeling,” she added.

The former Disney star said the satisfaction she feels watching groups like Fifth Harmony and Emblem3 rise to fame is the main reason she returned to judge the Fox reality show for a second season.

“I feel really proud and I’m so excited to have that again,” she said. “I can’t wait to see what comes out of this season.”

Season 3’s judges’ panel consists of Demi, Kelly Rowland, Paulina Rubio and Simon – the first time Simon has been the lone male at the table.

But don’t worry about the blunt Brit, says Demi.

“[Simon] acts like the biggest woman out of all of us,” she said with a laugh.

“The X Factor” returns with its Season 3 premiere on September 11 on Fox.
