Demi Lovato Reaches Settlement With Tour Dancer

Disney Channel star Demi Lovato has reached a settlement with the dancer she allegedly struck on Demi’s tour with the Jonas Brothers, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

Donald Karpel, who represents Welch, told Access, “There is a settlement and all of the issues have been amicably and completely resolved.”

“I’m happy. We came to an agreement and I’m ready to move on,” Alex “Shorty” Welch told People, which was first to report the news on Christmas Eve. “I’m ready to start working again,” she continued.

Earlier this month, reported that terms of a settlement deal were imminent.

The full terms of the settlement were not disclosed, however, according to People, Welch said that the agreement did, in fact, call for a portion of the settlement to be donated to charity. “That’s important,” she said.

“Alex is seeking a settlement, an apology from Demi and a donation made to a charity of her choice,” Karpel previously told Radar Online.

In November, Lovato entered treatment, “to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time,” the teen’s rep said.
