Demi Lovato Tapped As Teen Choice Awards Host

Demi Lovato will host the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, FOX announced on Monday.

Demi – who signed on with FOX’s “The X-Factor” back in May — is also juggling her summer tour, hitting 22 cities in both the United States and Canada.

In the past, Demi has won four Teen Choice Awards, including the 2011 Choice Summer Song for her single “Skyscraper” which debuted as No. 1 on iTunes’ chart and recently went Platinum. She was also the recipient of the inaugural Acuvue Inspire Award at Teen Choice 2011 for her work with the Jed Foundation’s Love is Louder movement.

Demi continues her award streak with three more nominations for Teen Choice 2012 in Choice Summer Song and Choice Love Song for her hit single “Give Your Heart a Break” and Choice Summer Female Music Star.

Katy Perry, Rihanna, Usher and One Direction are just some of the other stars Demi is up against for these Choice Awards.

This year’s live premiere will feature performances by Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, No Doubt and DJ Pauly D.

The show airs on FOX on Sunday, July 22, 2012.
