Depp, Aniston Net People’s Choice Awards Nominations

Johnny Depp, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, Ellen DeGeneres, Carrie Underwood and Shakira led the nominees for the 33rd annual People’s Choice Awards.

Nominees were announced today in Beverly Hills.

Internet research firm Knowledge Networks called on pop culture fans to help determine the nominees (The public can help choose the winners online at www.pcavote.com). The CBS TV show will broadcast from the Shrine Auditorium on January 9th.

A second round of nominees for categories that include favorite movie, new TV comedy and remake of a song will be announced later.

Neil Patrick Harris was one of the nomination announcers but he left quickly after the show, leaving empty-handed a dozen or so journalists who were hoping for interviews about his recent public decision to come out as gay.

Also making a speedy exit was Isaiah Washington. He, too, announced some of the nominations but left before talking with reporters. This was one of his first public appearances since he was reportedly involved in a fight on the set of “Grey’s Anatomy” a few weeks ago.
