LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 14, 2007) –Two years ago, “Desperate Housewives” revealed a gay storyline involving Bree Van De Kamp’s (Marcia Cross) son.
This year, Wisteria Lane greets two gay neighbors and Access Hollywood was on the set to welcome them to the neighborhood.
For the first time, a gay couple will move on to Wisteria Lane. Actors Tuc Watkins and Kevin Rahm will play life-partners Bob and Lee.
“I don’t know why it took so long to bring a gay couple onto this street,” Watkins, who we spoke to while he was filming the show’s Halloween episode, told Access. “It seems natural for this couple or a couple like us to have been here.”
So what are the boys doing in town?
“[My character wants] some peace and quiet. I drag him with me and we try to adorn our house in the way that we think is beautiful,” Watkins explained. “Someone doesn’t like it, they start poking at us and we let them know that we are aware of some improprieties they may have done in the past.”
In fact, the new Wisteria Lane couple erect a fountain, Rahm noted, one which causes trouble.
“[It’s a] very large fountain,” Rahm said. “It shoots water out the top too.”
The actors revealed it is “Desperate Housewives” newcomer, Dana Delaney, who causes trouble.
“Dana Delaney chooses the wrong two gay guys to make trouble with,” Watkins said.
Rahm previously starred on “Judging Amy.”
Tuc is no newcomer either. He’s already made his mark as a “One Life To Live” soap-stud.
“Well, more importantly, I was fired from ‘Saved By the Bell,’” Tuc revealed as his on-screen partner chuckled. “So you may say I was on ‘One Life To Live,’ but that’s not my claim to fame. I was fired from ‘Saved By The Bell!’”
