Despite Arrest Warrant, Hayden’s Eager To Return To Japan

Hayden Panettiere is eager to return to Japan, the country with an arrest warrant reportedly outstanding for the “Heroes” star.

Japanese authorities reportedly issued the warrant for the 18-year-old last month after she and five others attempted a dolphin rescue mission on surfboards in the country in October.

“I would absolutely love to go back,” she told Access Hollywood earlier this week. “Is there a point at the moment of us going back? I don’t think so right now. We can be much more useful elsewhere but I think what we did there turned out to be phenomenal and it was one of the biggest things that has ever happened in the history of trying to break down this problem.”

Hayden said she believes an arrest warrant was issued for her arrest on order to try and keep her from hitting the water again (in an attempt to stop Japanese fisherman from killing dolphins).

“What they’re saying is they’re trying very hard to arrest the surfers. I think the main purpose of putting a warrant out like that was in order to generate fear and get us to not come back if we were planning to come back,” she said.

Hayden also told Access Hollywood that 2007 has been a remarkable year, and the credit goes to the success of playing Claire on “Heroes.”

“It’s all been such an insane privilege and pleasure and it all started with, ‘Heroes,’ she said. “It gave me the push and the Umph to be able to do other things that I really want to do.”

All 11 episodes of ‘Heroes’ fall season have already aired, so, due to the writer’s strike, the show is on indefinite hiatus.
