Dish Of Salt: ‘Dancing,’ ‘Battlestar,’ Eye Surgery & More (November 2, 2

Needless to say, I couldn?t do much TV watching in my downtrodden state. Thanks to dear old mom for taking care of me during my time of need. Also, bravo to my producing pal, Bryant Huddleston, who filled in for me while I was away writing the dish. I might even have to start watching his beloved “Battlestar Galatica” to make it up to him. For now, I will return the favor by writing his “Lost & Found” blog while he is away this week ( which you can link to on the Blogs page.) I’ve got reaction sent to me personally from Mr. Eko himself ,Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, on his demise.

Turns out I missed all the good stuff surrounding “Dancing with the Stars” too, like the Sara Evans divorce scandal. Not that its good news, all the cheating allegations, just that its good dishy stuff. Now it seems like the show is back to being pretty darn boring. I seriously doubt anyone was surprised that Monique Coleman got the boot last night. What I can’t understand was how she got two 10’s on her second dance when during the cha cha her dance partner, Louis Van Amstel, clearly dropped her at the end. My boyfriend and I Tivo’d it back three times to make sure. How could the judges not see that right in front of their faces? Our Tony Potts was with Monique and Louis immediately after the show and said Monique told him she knew, with her and Mario in the bottom two, she was a goner, ?I knew I was going home but not in a sad depressing way but just in a… in… I just knew. I knew it. But it’s ok, I accept it. No tears. This has been such an incredible journey and I really am so lucky to be even standing here to be, I mean, in the top 4 of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is huge coming from where I came here and the fact that 6 months ago you didn’t know my first and last name.?

Well, the youngsters knew her from ?High School Musical? which is clearly what helped get her into the final four. Good news for the kiddies, next up Monique will start rehearsals for the upcoming ?High School Musical Tour.?Seems there may be more romance too behind the scenes, I’m hearing from a source that booted dancer, Shanna Moakler, is also dating her dance partner Jesse DeSoto now. So, Bryant gave a little ?Battlestar Gallactica? shout out the last couple of weeks. So, I’m going to talk up one of my new favorite shows. On my flight to the city where I had my surgery, I decided to download ‘The Office” to my iPod to give myself something to do on my five hour flight. I’d seen the first six episodes and thought it was a funny show but got busy on Thursdays last year with watching “Dancing with the Stars.” So I watched season two back-to-back for five hours. The way I was laughing, I think my seatmates thought something was wrong with me. Now I?m hooked. Watching the shows back-to-back you really get a glimpse at all the nuances of the relationships and all the inside jokes that seeing sporadic episodes doesn’t give you. Steve Carell is just the most brilliant idiot on TV ever. For anyone who works in an office type environment, I urge you to give the show a chance. Watching one or two episodes you can get a bit frustrated but when you see them altogether, its hysterical. Unfortunately, I?ll have to keep watching it via iPod because now my Thursdays are dedicated to “Ugly Betty” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”
