Dish Of Salt: Monday TV Dish (‘Bosom Buddies’ Reunite!)

Two “Bosom Buddies” reunite this month and the cast of “Glee” hits the White House. Plus, how you can become a part of the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore.” All of the details are in today’s Dish.

“Bosom Buddies” Reunite

Thirty years after they donned dresses and high heels, Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari are reuniting. The “Bosom Buddies” duo of Kip and Henry, who pretended to be women (Buffy and Hildegard) in order to keep a roof over their heads by moving into a women’s only hotel, will re-team to accept the “Anniversary Award” at the “8th Annual TV Land Awards.” The show is set to air Sunday, April 25 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on TV Land. Fellow cast members Donna Dixon, Thelma Hopkins and Holland Taylor will join the duo, making it the first time the cast will be together publicly since the show went off the air in 1982. Sadly, Wendie Jo Sperber, who played Amy Cassidy in the series, died in 2005 of breast cancer at the age of 46. She no doubt will be fondly remembered during the celebration.

“Jersey Shore” Casting Call

If your life is all about GTL – that’s gym, tan, laundry for you non-“Jersey Shore” addicts – then MTV wants you! Snooki, The Situation, JWoww and the rest of the gang are searching for new roommates to join the party. OK, well actually, this casting notice is for possible future seasons of “Jersey Shore,” not the current one (with the old cast) filming in Miami. I have a feeling this crowd of wannabe’s wouldn’t want anyone to take away from their own 15 minutes of fame… but MTV producers are indeed casting now for a new crop of “tanned and toned fist pumper(s)” who can prove they “dominate the gym, tear up the dance floor and rule the bedroom” – their words, not mine. Those interested parties who are over 21 and “appear to be younger than 30” (again, their words not mine) can log onto www.jerseyshorecasting.com. The second season of the raunchy and ridiculous reality series is set to film in Florida this month.

“Glee” At The White House

All dressed together in red, the cast of “Glee” had the opportunity of a lifetime to perform Sunday morning for the first family at the annual Easter egg roll on the White House lawn. Despite some technical issues with sound, the crowd seemed to love it – including Michelle Obama and first daughters Sasha and Malia.

After the performance Chris Colfer tweeted, “I feel like today was a dream! I met the President of the United States, JK Rowling, and Ellen’s Mom Betty DeGeneres! so surreal!”

Kevin McHale also took to his Twitter page to announce this as the, “Best day ever! Don’t even have the words.”

Amber Riley had the extra honor of singing the National Anthem at the beginning of the day. After the performance she Tweeted, “That was the most amazing thing I’ve ever done. Sang the National Anthem right next to the first family and the President introduced me! I am in pure disbelief!”

And for those who live in Los Angeles who just can’t wait for the April 13 return of “Glee” on FOX, then be sure and head down to The Grove on Saturday, April 10 at 7 PM. There will be an exclusive outdoor screening of the premiere episode!

Comedy Central Gets “Sunny”

F/X’s quirky comedy “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” about four dysfunctional friends, who run a struggling Irish pub in Philadelphia, is heading to Comedy Central next month. Re-runs of the show, which is currently in its fifth season on F/X, begin on Monday, May 31. No word yet on when F/X will begin its new season. Stars of the show and real life married couple Kaitlin Olsen and Rob McElhenney are expecting their first child together in August.
