Dish of Salt: Scott Bakula Makes Quantum Leap To ‘Chuck’

Scott Bakula is one busy guy these days.

His mid-life crisis dramedy, “Men of a Certain Age,” which co-stars Ray Romano and Andre Braugher, was just picked up for 10 episodes by TNT. He’ll be reprising his role this spring playing new Christine’s father, Jeff, on CBS’s “The New Adventures Of Old Christine” and now Access Hollywood has learned Bakula has signed on for a three episode stint on NBC’s “Chuck” playing the dad of Zachary Levi’s character Chuck Bartowski.

This will solve the long mystery of just who is Chuck’s (and his sister Ellie’s) father and why have they not seen him in years.

So far, all that has been revealed is that their dad is some kind of engineer.

Could he be working for the government or worse, for FULCRUM?

Bakula’s storyline will intersect with Chevy Chase who it was just announced will appear in three episodes as well.

Chase will play a mega-billionaire technology mogul who is accused by Chuck’s father of stealing his ideas.

Bakula can also be seen this fall opposite Matt Damon in the upcoming dark comedy thriller “The Informant” directed by Steven Soderbergh.
