Dish of Salt: The Nimoy Debacle – Will William Shatner Trump ‘The Big Bang Theory’?

I’m back! It’s been a while since I’ve been doing the newsletter, but expect an all-new look and feel to the Dish of Salt newsletter this fall. You provided the feedback, and we listened. This newsletter will now mostly highlight my video interviews. Less text…. More to watch (about what to watch!)!

Yesterday, I took a trip to the set of CBS’s new comedy “$#*! My Dad Says.” After two weeks on the air, the ratings seem to be holding up for the show (although critics have panned it left and right). When I spoke to William Shatner, I got the sense he could care less what anyone is saying about the show. He is having a blast working on it and at 79-years-old, he has no plans on slowing down. Check out my interview with Shatner about the show, retirement and how he stays looking so young, HERE.

It wouldn’t be a William Shatner interview without asking about whether or not he has plans to be in J.J. Abrams next “Star Trek” flick. To be truthful, this is not a question I would have ever asked myself…. but my fanboy colleague (and Shatner super fan), Scott “Movie” Mantz was breathing down my neck.

What I wanted to know was whether or not Shatner planned to trump “The Big Bang Theory” (the show which precedes his show on Thursday nights) and get his buddy Leonard Nimoy to make an appearance on his new sitcom. Nimoy is, of course, the numero uno end-all-be-all guest star for all “BBT” cast, crew and fans alike. I see a Jim Parsons/William Shatner battle in the making! Check out why HERE.
