Dish Of Salt: Tuesday TV Dish (Awards Season Hangover)

Awards season is officially over. The final two big shows took place over the weekend – The 82nd Annual Academy Awards and the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards. I was inside both shows to dish out some celebrity scoop.

Plus, Best Actress nominee Gabourey Sidibe has landed a new gig at Showtime. “American Idol” gets ready to reveal its Top 12 this week and I’ve got news on where you can find season four winner Carrie Underwood. And a new ABC special goes inside “The Bachelor” like never before.

Oscar Hangover
I had so much fun on Oscar night, I decided to take a day off from being the Dish yesterday! However, if you haven’t yet gotten enough Oscar scoop, then be sure and check out the live on-site blog Scott “Movie” Mantz and I wrote from inside the show. Which former A-list co-stars did I catch reuniting for a smoke break outside the Governor’s Ball? You can find out HERE

I noticed when I went back and read the blog myself, I left out one major moment. I guess everyone had gone to bed because my favorite moment of the night didn’t make it into that blog. So, here is some special scoop just for you guys. As I was leaving the Governor’s Ball, I happened to hop in the elevator with Best Director winner Kathryn Bigelow. Standing right next to her was Lee Daniels, Best Director nominee for “Precious: Based On The Novel Push by Sapphire.” Someone in the elevator yelled out “Wow! We are taking an elevator of history!” Everyone inside the packed elevator cheered and then Lee jokingly tried to grab Kathryn’s golden statue she was holding and yelled, “It’s mine!” She laughed and the two had a nice moment together.

Gabourey’s Indie Spirit
Best Actress nominee Gabourey Sidibe may not have won the Oscar on Sunday night but on Friday evening she was a huge winner. Sidibe won Best Female Lead for “Precious” at the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards, beating out Gwyneth Paltrow, Maria Bello and Helen Mirren. After her win, Gabourey hit the official presenter Gift Lounge, produced by On 3 Productions.

Check out my backstage interview with Gabourey HERE.

Gabourey has also just landed her next big acting gig. She has a recurring role in Showtime’s new drama “The C Word,” acting alongside Laura Linney. All the details are HERE.

For every star that came into the gift lounge, FAGE Total 0 % Yogurt and LG Kompressor Vacuums made a contribution to Project Involve. Together they raised $75,000 for an incredible cause. The gift lounge was a great spot to be all night watching the stars check out all the cool merchandise. Gilles Marini and I shared a spoonful of FAGE together at the beginning of the night. Fortunately, his wife wasn’t around to witness it. He’s always so playful and from what I hear from people on set of “Brothers and Sisters” (he’s joining the cast as a series regular) he has really brought a lot of light and energy to the set.

Jodie Foster dropped in (and wow is she ever stunning in person) and happily grabbed an AMC Signature Pass, which allows each star and one guest the opportunity to see movies for free at any AMC theater in the U.S. Jeremy Renner snagged a gift bag full of beauty goodies from The Body Shop for his mom, to help her get red carpet ready to be his Oscar date Sunday night. Ricki Lake grabbed herself a new FLIP MinoHD camera and told me that she just shot a documentary entirely on a FLIP about a six-week relationship she had with a guy she met online. The documentary is called “Six Weeks Of Poor Judgment.” Ricki, I can relate. Trust me!

More from my interview with Ricki Lake HERE.

Both Johnny Weir and Olivia Wilde went WILD (yep, had to say it) for scarves by Leigh & Luca. Johnny must have spent ten minutes trying on different scarves. He told me this was the first Hollywood gift lounge he had ever been in and that he was loving every minute of it. Check out my interview with Johnny HERE.

To see what else went down inside the gift lounge check out my blog HERE.

The trailer for Olivia’s highly anticipated flick “Tron Legacy” just landed in the Access Hollywood offices this morning with a special intro from Olivia. Check it out HERE

Carrie’s Concert Kick-Off
The top eight girls perform tonight on “American Idol.” Then tomorrow night it will be the guys’ turn, and finally, on Thursday we will learn who made the Top 12. I’m sure Carrie Underwood remembers that feeling well when she made it into the Top 12 during season four. Oh, how her life is changed! On Thursday night while the new Top 12 will be celebrating at a party in Hollywood (I’ll be there for all the scoop) Carrie will be kicking off her “Play On Tour” in Reading, Pennsylvania. The tour is slated to run through June 20. For all the details and tour dates click HERE.

“Bachelor” Behind The Rose
Last night was the big Jason and Molly wedding (which I chose not to watch). However, I will be tuning in, for sure, next Monday night for a special two-hour edition of “20/20” called “Inside The Bachelor: The Stories Behind The Rose.” The show will feature never-before-seen audition tapes from the show as well as interviews with former contestants -some not surprising (Trista and Ryan), some very surprising. Brad Womack will finally talk about his life after the show and Mary Delgado and Byron Velvick will discuss their tumultuous relationship. Considering ABC, the network that airs the show, is producing this special, I doubt we will really learn all that much dirt on the show, but I will still be watching.
