Tonight is a huge night for TV as ABC’s “Lost” begins its sixth and final season tonight. The Dish spoke with the cast about what they will miss the least about filming the hit show in Hawaii.
Plus, she has a preview of next week’s “The Bachelor” and answers why for the first time in the show’s history, there will be no rose ceremony.

“Lost” Returns Tonight
The eight-month wait is finally over! “Lost” begins its final season tonight on ABC. You might want to get your fill while you can though of Matthew Fox, who plays Jack Shepard on the hit series. Matthew told UsMagazine.com, at a premiere screening for the show on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii, that he wouldn’t be doing any more TV after the show wraps production. “I think this will be the last time you see me on TV,” he said. “I’m either going to make movies with filmmakers I want to work with, or I’ll be doing something else entirely.” The news doesn’t surprise me, as Matthew has always seemed like the reluctant star, ever since he first starred on “Party Of Five.” Matthew also revealed that he will move his family back to Oregon, when filming in Hawaii finishes up.
Matthew’s co-star, Evangeline Lilly, seems to be contemplating the same idea. At the same event she revealed (to several different media outlets) that she might leave acting completely behind, although she has made no decisions just yet. When I spoke to the cast last month at the ABC Television Critics’ Association press day, I asked everyone what they would miss least about filming the show. Now, I actually can’t tell you what Evangeline told me, as it was a bit too honest and I wouldn’t want to get her in trouble. But here is what some of the other cast had to say about what they would miss the least:
Michael Emerson (Ben Linus):
“For me, it’s combat — combat and handling guns, I’d have to say.”
Terry O’Quinn (John Locke):
“There is nobody that I would hazard to say, on the show, that doesn’t have scars or wounds or abrasions… that will be there to remind you of this job probably for the rest of your life.”
Jorge Garcia (Hurley):
“Mosquito bites in random spots. Suddenly it’s like, ‘Ow! How did I get bit on the webbing of my finger and my eyebrow?’ Listen, if you watch the show in HD you can see someone get a mosquito bite where he doesn’t have it and then in the close up, it’s, ‘Oh look at that! They got him!’ I also won’t miss marching in sand. You don’t really think about it, because when you are in sand you are in flip flops and it’s a leisure stroll, but when you have to march with purpose, when you are on a trek, it’s a lot harder than you realize. You start out with the fake sweat and you end with all real sweat.”
Josh Holloway (Sawyer):
“Probably the drive home after a 16 hour day. After you work so hard, it’s a very physical show, long hours, it’s the drive home. I will not miss that.”
Emile de Ravin (Claire Littleton):
“Mosquitoes and bugs. I mean, I like them but I don’t like them biting me!”
Daniel Dae Kim: (Jin Kwon):
“One of the things I will miss the least is trying to schedule anything that requires me to leave Hawaii.”
All-Star Game Performers Announced
Alicia Keys, Shakira and Usher are all scheduled to perform at the 2010 NBA All-Star game in Dallas, Texas. The game will air live at 8 PM ET on TNT. Shakira will perform her current single, “Give It Up To Me,” off of her current album “She Wolf.” Alicia will sing her hits “Empire Stare of Mind” and “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart,” off her new album, “The Element of Freedom.” Usher is set to treat the crowd to a performance of his fan favorite single “Yeah!” The performances will take place during half-time which will happen in front of the largest crowd ever to attend a basketball game – at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX.
“The Bachelor” Recap
The ‘I Hate Vienna’ fan club seems to be growing larger and larger. The 23-year-old blonde Floridian continues to make enemies with the girls in her relentless pursuit of Jake. Jake continues to keep her around much to everyone’s surprise. Of course, this is reality TV and I’m sure we are not seeing the full picture of their relationship on the show. However, it sure looked very awkward when Vienna snuck into Jake’s room. It’s never a good sign when a shirtless man pulls the covers up over himself when you walk in the room. In the end, Jake sent 23-year-old Corrie home at the rose ceremony. Corrie had revealed on their one-on-one date she was a virgin. Somehow, I don’t think that is why squeaky-clean Jake sent her home. I’d say it was more due to the lack of time they had together during filming.
Next week, it’s the hometown dates and ABC revealed in a promo at the end of last night’s show, that for the first time in “Bachelor” history there would be no rose ceremony. SPOILER ALERT. Rumors on the Internet say that Ali will decide to leave the show. I’m guessing since in the promo we see Ali standing with the other four ladies, she tells him at the rose ceremony – thus giving him no reason to have to eliminate one of the other women.
