DJ AM’s Intervention Reality Series Gets Debut Date On MTV

MTV, with the consent and support of Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein’s family, will air the documentary series “Gone Too Far.”

The hour-long, eight-episode series hosted and created by Goldstein chronicles young addicts between the ages of 20-25 in the grip of addiction who are offered a chance at recovery.

“After careful consideration we have decided to air the show. Adam felt strongly that by doing this series he could help other addicts who were at a crisis point to get sober. Adam was fully aware that if it were not for his own sobriety he never would have achieved the level of success and happiness he had found. Helping people in their recovery was a huge part of Adam’s life,” the Goldstein family said in a statement released to Access Hollywood.

“It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others,” the family’s statement continued. “The decision to air the show has been difficult, but we do this with the profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help.”

“Gone Too Far” is said to be an “intense and eye-opening series features real addicts in crisis whose families are desperate to get them the help they need.”

Each episode features DJ AM meeting with the addicts, along with their friends and families to explore their willingness to change. As part of his life long struggle to overcome substance abuse, his mission was to help as many people as he could and this series was a way for him to help on a bigger level.

The series will debut on Monday, October 12 at 10 PM on MTV.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, production on “Gone Too Far” was completed just three days before Goldstein was found dead in his New York City apartment at the age of 36 from a lethal cocktail of prescription drugs and cocaine.
