Doctor & Computer Expert To Testify In Smith Case

An expert witness in the prescribing practices of psychiatrists is slated to testify at a preliminary hearing in a drug case involving Anna Nicole Smith.

Dr. Timothy Botello is due on the stand Monday to evaluate actions taken by Smith’s psychiatrist Dr. Khristine Eroshevich. A computer forensics expert also is due to analyze e-mails in the case.

Eroshevich, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Smith’s former boyfriend-lawyer, Howard K. Stern, are charged with conspiring to illegally provide the celebrity model with controlled substances.

They have pleaded not guilty. The preliminary hearing is being held to determine whether there is enough evidence to order the three to stand trial.

Smith died in February 2007. The three defendants are not charged with her death, which was ruled an accidental overdose.
