Dr. Luke Continues To Deny Kesha’s Abuse Allegations

Two days after Kesha filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke, the producer continues to deny the singer’s abuse allegations— and he’s blaming Kesha’s accusations on wanting to get out of a record contract with him.

“Kesha’s lawsuit is a spectacular and outrageous fiction that will go down in flames,” Dr. Luke’s lawyer, Christine Lepera, claimed in a new statement to Access Hollywood on Thursday. “As the truth emerges, this sad and misguided smear campaign will only hurt Kesha.”

Kesha is currently embroiled in a nasty legal war with Dr. Luke, her longtime music producer. In a lawsuit filed Tuesday, the 27 year-old pop star alleges that she was “sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abused” for 10 years by the producer, whose real name is Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald.

According to court documents, Kesha claimed the abuse started when she was 18 and newly signed to Dr. Luke. Kesha said in the docs that Dr. Luke coerced her into using drugs and alcohol, and made repeated sexual advances towards her.

Dr. Luke filed a separate lawsuit the same day Kesha filed her paperwork, accusing the singer of defamation and breach of contract.

On Tuesday, Kesha’s legal counsel, Mark Geragos, responded to Dr. Luke’s lawsuit, telling Access, “This is just another pathetic and entirely predictable example of Dr. Luke’s continued abuse, and a misguided attempt to keep Kesha under his tyrannical control. This lawsuit has absolutely no basis in fact, the law or reality.”

Today, Dr. Luke’s attorney claimed to Access in a press release, “The lawsuit that we filed is not in retaliation, as the other side well knows.”

She further alleged, “Our lawsuit is based upon the most recent extortion scheme against Luke – which started over a year ago, both verbally and in writing.”

Lepera also quoted an e-mail she claims was sent by Kesha’s mom, Pebe Sebert, to Dr. Luke’s team, on October 29, 2013:

“Tomorrow I am going to start making public how Dr. Luke blackmailed me into giving him and Circuit publishing credit, on all songs I wrote on warrior, with Kesha and other writers and producers…We, me and kesha and her friends…are going to make all of this Really PUBLIC, in the next few days. Luke date raped Kesha when she was 18. Nicky Hilton’s birthday? Paris Hiltons house? Luke gave Kesha pills? She ended up naked in his hotel room 2 days later, no longer a virgin? Do we want all this to come out? either this Luke releases Kesha from all legal contracts, and gives me back all my publishing, or we, Kesha and I. tell the truth. And if I wind up dead, TRUST ME, IT’S IN WRITING TO CALL YOU AND LUKE.”

In response to the press release, Kesha’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, gave his opinion on the alleged email, saying, “It is telling that Dr. Luke would twist an email from a horrified and justifiably angry mother threatening to tell the truth — the truth! — about the predator that sexually assaulted her daughter. It is offensive — but not surprising — that Dr. Luke would try and pervert the words of a concerned mother to try and keep Kesha under his unilateral control against her will.”

According to Geragos’ offices, no court dates have been set.
