Dr. Ruth Chimes In On Ryan Lochte’s Sex Life: ‘I Want Him To Have A Relationship!’

Ryan Lochte previously tried to reframe his mother’s comments that her Olympic swimmer son has had a few one-night stands, by telling Access Hollywood she actually meant “dates.” But, should there be any truth to Mama Lochte’s original comments, legendary sex therapist Dr. Ruth is not happy.

“First of all, I don’t like it,” the 84-year-old Dr. Ruth Westheimer told Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Monday. “I don’t like that one-night stands [thing]. I want him to have a relationship like everybody should have a relationship.”

Using a swimming cap reference, Dr. Ruth advocated protection for the swimmer.

“But, if he uses one-night stands, you know what I said, since he uses a rubber on his head, he has to use the rubber someplace else,” she laughed.

Dr. Ruth visited Access Hollywood Live on Monday, with actress Debra Jo Rupp, to promote the play, “Dr. Ruth, All The Way,” at the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, Mass., and the 84-year-old admitted she is one of the many who appreciates Ryan’s physique.

“Honestly, [he’s] gorgeous. It’s too bad I’m too old,” she said. “And, I don’t go with anybody who every night has another [lady]. But he does look good. No question.”

Dr. Ruth also shared her opinion of “That ‘70s Show’s” Debra Jo, who portrays the legendary sex therapist in “Dr. Ruth, All the Way.” As Debra Jo sat next to her, Dr. Ruth told Billy and Kit she loves the portrayal for many reasons.

“First of all — similarity, second, she talks like me — she learnt it. Third, I love the way she walks like me. She walks with her head forward, marches,” Dr. Ruth said. “I can tell you something that she does not know yet, I have seen it seven times, but I don’t sit in front of her, because I don’t want her to say, ‘Dr. Ruth is here.’ I sit all the way in the back, but every time I have to pinch myself [and tell myself], ‘Shut up! That’s not you there, that’s Deborah Jo Rupp.’”
