Dwayne Johnson To Play Black Adam In ‘Shazam’

It’s official!

After months of hinting that he would play a character in “Shazam,” Dwayne Johnson has announced he will play Black Adam in the DC film.

The actor revealed the supervillain news via Twitter on Wednesday.

“Kneel at his feet or get crushed by his boot.” My honor to become.. #BlackAdam #TheAntiHero #DCComics,” he Tweeted, along with an animated photo of the comicbook character holding Shazam in a headlock.

According to Variety, Darren Lemke is set to pen the “Shazam” movie.

No word yet on who will play Shazam, or whether Dwayne’s Black Adam or Shazam will appear in DC’s upcoming “Justice League” film.

(Shazam has appeared in the “Justice League of America” comicbooks and Frank Miller’s “Batman” in recent years.)
