Eddie Cibrian Sues Magazine For Defamation, Officially Confirms LeAnn Rimes ‘Current Girlfriend’

Eddie Cibrian has taken his complaints against a tabloid magazine to court.

The “CSI: Miami” actor, who’s in the midst of divorce proceedings with estranged wife Brandi Cibrian, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday against Life & Style Weekly and its parent company, Bauer Publishing.

In court papers obtained by Access Hollywood, the suit alleges defamation and false light invasion of privacy over a story that claimed the star had been “carrying on a romance” with aspiring actress Scheana Marie Jancan and another unidentified woman under the nose of previously rumored girlfriend LeAnn Rimes.

The suit, which calls LeAnn his “current girlfriend,” the first official confirmation Eddie and LeAnn are together, claims the mag conducted “reckless and shoddy journalism” and claims it “falsely accused” him of cheating.

Further, the suit asks for damages “in excess of” $2 million.

LeAnn and Eddie had previously denied their relationship when reports broke out that the “Northern Lights” co-stars had linked up earlier this year; both have since filed for divorce from their respective spouses and been spotted together golfing and on vacation.

When reached for comment previously about the aforementioned story, which ran in the mag and was posted on their web site on November 4, Life & Style told Access Hollywood they stand by their reporting.
