Elizabeth Banks reportedly has her sights set on “The Hunger Games.”
According to Variety, the actress is in talks to play Effie Trinket, escort and sometimes protector of the movie’s central characters Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson).
The character is known for her ever-changing hair colors and eccentric style in the Suzanne Collins trilogy.
On Monday, Entertainment Weekly reported that newcomers Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg had been cast in the roles of District 11 tributes Thresh and Rue, respectively.
“The Hunger Games” will be directed by Gary Ross and will hit theaters on March 23, 2012.
