Ellen DeGeneres: The New Face Of CoverGirl

Following in the footsteps of Queen Latifah, Rihanna and Drew Barrymore, daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres will be the next “easy, breezy, beautiful” celebrity to front a CoverGirl campaign.

“I am the new face of CoverGirl,” Ellen said while striking a model-esque pose during a taping of her talk show, airing Tuesday.

“That’s the first thing they teach you when you’re a CoverGirl, Ellen continued, striking another pose.

And Ellen wasn’t the only one enthusiastic about the new deal. Esi Eggleston Bracey, vice president and general manager of Global Cosmetics for Proctor and Gamble (P&G) Beauty, who count CoverGirl as one of their brands, expressed her excitement over the pairing.

“Ellen is the quintessential CoverGirl. She is smart, confident, natural, and beautiful from the inside out,” she said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “Her beauty and down-to-earth personality fit perfectly with what CoverGirl represents. We look forward to our partnership — stay tuned for more news.”

And Ellen appears to be already taking to her new role as a model — she’s even got the cosmetic company’s slogan down!

“I am very, very excited about it,” she added. “It’s a very cool thing…I’m honored and the photo shoot was ‘easy, breezy, beautiful…CoverGirl.’”

Ellen’s CoverGirl campaign will begin running in January 2009.
