Elton John Hospitalized With Serious Respiratory Infection, Cancels Three Shows

Elton John is a bit under the weather.

The singer, 65, was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning after developing a serious respiratory infection while performing his show, “The Million Dollar Piano,” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Sunday.

Following his hospitalization, the “Your Song” singer was forced to cancel three upcoming performances, per doctor’s orders, in order to recuperate from the infection and prevent any damage.

“It feels strange not to be able to perform these ‘Million Dollar Piano’ concerts at The Colosseum,” Elton said in a statement released to Access Hollywood on Thursday. “I love performing this show and I will be thrilled when we return to The Colosseum in October to complete the eleven concerts soon to be scheduled.

“All I can say to the fans is sorry I can’t be with you,” the statement continued. “I hope to see you soon at this wonderful theatre at Caesars Palace.”
