Emily Blunt Front-Runner For ‘Iron Man 2’ Villainess

Emily Blunt could be going from “Prada” to “Iron.”

The “Devil Wears Prada” star is the front-runner for the role of the Black Widow in “Iron Man 2,” Variety reported.

The Black Widow is a sexy Soviet spy – a role that could dovetail with reports that Mickey Rourke is in talks to play Russian villain the Crimson Dynamo.

Paramount had no comment when reached by Access Hollywood.

According to MTV News, on Thursday, Sam Rockwell confirmed his role as another villain in the film, which will feature the return of Robert Downey Jr. in the title role and Jon Favreau as director.

“Iron Man 2” is due in summer 2010, but audiences will see a lot of Emily in the meantime. The actress currently has three films awaiting release — the comedy “The Great Buck Howard” alongside Tom Hanks and John Malkovich; the horror period piece “The Wolfman” opposite Benicio del Toro and Anthony Hopkins; and co-starring with Amy Adams in the comedy “Sunshine Cleaning.”
