Emily Maynard ‘Scared To Death’ About Being The New ‘Bachelorette’

Emily Maynard’s search for love on the upcoming new season of “The Bachelorette” is beginning to frighten her.

“It really hasn’t hit me, what I’ve signed on to do,” she recently told People. “I’m scared to death.”

The 25-year-old single mother swore off looking for “the one” on reality TV last June when she and “Bachelor” Brad Womack called off their engagement, saying she “had no intentions of ever being the next ‘Bachelorette.’”

“I genuinely meant that,” she told the mag. “I feel like the biggest hypocrite because I said that and now I’m doing it.”

But the blonde beauty thinks she’ll have plenty of opportunities to find the right guy in the new season, which begins production next month in in Charlotte, N.C., where she lives with daughter Ricki, 6.

“I know it can work,” she said. “I fell in love the first time and no, we didn’t end up getting married, but in the end just falling in love, for me, is a success.”

Emily said her daughter will be kept away from most of the reality show.

“She’s not going to be involved in a lot of filming and certainly not meeting the guys,” she told the mag. “But she’s really excited to go on vacation with Mommy.”

The single mom explained that her life is very different than others when it comes to dating.

“My schedule is very different than a normal single guy’s schedule. I can’t go out every night of the week,” she said. “They just kind of fizz out before they ever have a chance to become anything. I have to take things slowly because I have a daughter, so that makes it really hard.”

Emily’s season of “The Bachelorette” – the show’s eighth, will premiere this spring on ABC.
