Emma Roberts: ‘I’ve Never Had A Full-On Sex Scene… But We’ll See’

Emma Roberts may have the classic good looks of an ingenue, but the 19-year-old actress is taking bold steps towards a diverse career, including a role as a psychiatric patient in the upcoming film, “It’s Kind of a Funny Story,” with Zach Galifianakis.

In the September Issue of W Magazine, Emma poses solo in a bra, as well as in a triple-fold cover panel with fellow actresses Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Zoe Kravitz.

“I always wanted to be an actress, and my first audition, when I was nine, was for Blow, playing Johnny Depp’s daughter,” said Emma, daughter of Eric Roberts, and Julia Roberts’ niece. “I think everyone in my family was shocked because they sent me on the audition to kind of shut me up about the acting thing.”

While the brunette beauty’s former roles include teen heroine Nancy Drew, and a lovable orphan who runs a “Hotel for Dogs,” Emma is not necessarily opposed to nudity or sex scenes as she transitions into more mature roles.

“I don’t know that I’d do a full-on nude scene, ever,” Emma told the mag. “I’ve never had a full-on sex scene…but we’ll see.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Emma Roberts recently joined the cast of “Scream 4,” along with returning franchise stars Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Neve Campbell, for the new film, which began production in June. Other additions to the new cast include Lauren Graham, Hayden Panettiere and Lake Bell.

“I’m so excited to be part of this ground-breaking franchise,” Emma wrote in a statement to Access. “As a huge fan of the previous films, I jumped at the opportunity to work with the original SCREAM team of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson. It’s the perfect opportunity for me to do something completely different than I’ve ever done before.”

(note: Williamson reportedly has since left the production)

We’ll be seeing a lot more of this talented teen in coming months – “It’s Kind of a Funny Story” hit theaters on September 24, 2010, and “Scream 4” is slated for release on April 15, 2011.
