Emma Stone On ‘Easy A’ – Could This Be Her Break Out Role?

She may be 21, but Emma Stone is quickly becoming Hollywood’s teen movie queen, making the high school boys swoon in “Superbad,” and crushing out on a young Matthew McConnaughey in “Ghost of Girlfriends Past.” In her newest film, “Easy A” (out September 17), she could be poised to breakout as a box office superstar.

“It’s kind of amazing,” she told ASOS magazine about starring in the film, “but then again, being on the cusp of something is like being on the edge of a cliff. You don’t know what’s below.”

In “Easy A,” Emma plays Olive, a high school student who fakes a sexual liaison with fellow student Brandon (played by “Cougar Town’s” Dan Byrd), only to find herself with a reputation for being a bad girl. The pressure of the starring role though, is something Emma told the mag she puts on herself.

“There is an immense amount of pressure, which doesn’t come from anybody but myself. But if you don’t make peace with the not knowing, then you will be miserable,” she said.

It appears that Emma is taking pressure off herself in other ways. The redhead told the mag she doesn’t wear uncomfortable footwear.

“I stopped wearing heels… you just can’t walk in them,” she said.

The lack of heels will probably help out when she’s in New York City, a place she told the mag she adores.

“What do I love about New York? What don’t I love?” she said. “It’s a true cultural hub, people from every place on earth have gathered here. You walk to different parts of the city and you feel you’re walking into a different world. Coming from Arizona, where it’s golf courses and spas, it’s interesting to watch such a vibrant, real city.”
