Eva La Rue: ‘It’s Going To Be Really Heartbreaking’ To Watch The End Of ‘All My Children’

This week marks the final countdown to the end of “All My Children” on ABC and actress Eva La Rue is, like many soap fans, trying to prepare herself for the television loss of the legendary daytime show.

“It’s going to be really heartbreaking. I don’t know how you say goodbye to such an iconic show after 42 years on the air,” she told Access Hollywood backstage in the HP TouchSmart Gift Lounge at the Nokia Theatre, before the Emmys on Sunday night.

For years, Eva played Maria Santos on the soap opera, and her brief cameo return, alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar, who originated the role of Erica Kane’s long lost daughter Kendall, will air this week.

“Sarah Michelle Gellar and I went back. It airs this Thursday,” she said.

“They gave us the funniest, most tongue-in-cheek-scene,” Eva hinted of her “AMC” return. “It’s hysterical… And we started together the first week… years ago, and we got to end together.”

Eva is currently at work on “CSI: Miami,” where she plays Natalie Boa Vista, but she’ll be stealing time away from the set to watch “AMC’s” bow out.

“I’m going to be watching every single episode,” she said. “I’m going to be watching it all from work in my trailer. I feel like I grew up there. [I spent] the better part of my adult life there; I got married there; I had my daughter there. Some of my closest friends, [I met there]. I watched it when I was a kid. My mom watched it when I was little.”

The actress’ CBS series returns on Sunday for its tenth season, and Eva said Horatio and the gang come back with a bang.

“It’s going to be an awesome [episode],” she said. “I have to tell you, this season premiere show is probably my favorite episode in the seven years that I’ve been on the show.

“It is a lot of drama, a lot going on, a lot of running, jumping, playing, swimming diving,” she added. “[It’s] madness, it’s really good, really good.”
