Eva On New ‘Desperate’ Neighbors: ‘Gabrielle Should Be Friends With The Gays’

Eva Longoria is buzzing over the newest addition to the “Desperate Housewives” cast – gay neighbors Bob and Lee.

“I am really excited about the gay neighbors, it is about time,” she told Access Hollywood on the Emmy red carpet, Sunday night. “I am surprised we haven’t had them before.”

On Friday, Access Hollywood introduced you to Tuc Watkins and Kevin Rahm, who will play the street’s first gay couple – Bob and Lee. The two relocate to the street after a spell in New York City, only to find that erecting a rather large fountain causes trouble with a new character played by Dana Delany.

Longoria revealed Delany’s character isn’t the only one the gents find trouble with.

“They’re funny, oh god they’re funny,” Longoria says of the boys in their new roles. “[They] have a lot with Teri Hatcher – they are like, catty with her and they don’t like her and it is so fun.”

Longoria herself admits her character – sexy, thirty-something Gabrielle Solis, hasn’t had much interaction with Bob and Lee since filming began, but she would sure like to.

“They’re my neighbors. They are actually the house right next to me and I haven’t really interacted with them too much,” she sighed. “I would love [a script involving my character and their characters]. Gabrielle should be friends with the gays.”
