Exclusive: Spencer Pratt To Change His Name To ‘King Spencer Pratt’

Spencer Pratt has been called a lot of things in his day, but now he’s choosing his own title – King.

Spencer is in the process of legally changing his name to “King Spencer Pratt,” Access Hollywood can exclusively reveal.

A rep for Spencer confirmed the news to Access.

And Spencer, himself, explained the reason behind his decision to legally change his name.

“I have decided that if there is a Queen of England and Prince William, we need to have a King of America,” Spencer told Access. “And I have nominated myself for that title.”

Spencer’s rep told Access that “The Hills” star has not yet filed the legal papers to alter his name, but plans to this week.

In the meantime, the MTV star revealed there is one nickname he won’t be answering to in the future – the “white Jay-Z.”

“I take back the quote that I am the white Jay Z!” he wrote on Twitter on Monday, referring to a remark he made when he released a rap song earlier this year. “I did my research I am nothing like this person so please forget I ever said this! Thanks!”

In related Spencer news, it appears “The Hills” star is being challenged to an Ashton vs. CNN-style Twitter followers war by none other than his wife.

“Twitter fam need your help! Help me get to 1 million followers before my hubby! Let’s beat him! Rt this? XO,” Spencer’s bride, who legally goes by Heidi Pratt, and professionally, by Heidi Montag, Tweeted.

At press time, the “Body Language” singer is in the lead with nearly 570,000 followers. Spencer is lagging behind with 418, 341.
