Facebook’s Year In Review: Beyonce, ‘Game Of Thrones’ & ‘Frozen’ Rule

As the world counts down to 2015, Facebook has released a countdown of the top trending entertainers, TV shows, movies, songs, and celebrity deaths of 2014.

Here is a look at a few of Facebook’s Year in Review Top 10 Lists…

Beyonce sits atop the throne as number one trending entertainer on Facebook. Pharrell Williams has a lot to be happy about in second, Nicki Minaj finished third, Taylor Swift was fourth, Jimmy Fallon fifth, Iggy Azalea sixth, Katy Perry was lucky number seven, Pitbull eighth and John Legend ninth. Kim Kardashian and her caboose rounded out the top 10.

The highest trending TV shows of the year were “Game of Thrones” followed by “Orange is the New Black,” “The Walking Dead,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “Downton Abbey,” “American Horror Story,” “Sons of Anarchy,” “True Detective,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and last but not least, “Scandal.”

“Frozen” won’t let go of the top spot on the list of movies. “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Maleficent,” “The Lego Movie,” “The Fault in our Stars,” “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” “Gone Girl,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” and “The Purge: Anarchy” also made an impact sequentially.

Pharrell took the top spot from Queen Bey on the list of the highest trending songs. His hit “Happy” left a lasting impression. John Legend’s “All of Me,” Sam Smith’s “Stay with Me,” DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What,” Idina Menzel’s “Let It Go (from ‘Frozen’),” Beyonce featuring Jay-Z’s “Drunk in Love,” Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda,” Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” Magic!’s “Rude” and Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX’s “Fancy” followed in order of popularity.

Facebook also took a moment to remember celebrities who passed away in 2014. In no particular ranking, the social media site paid tribute to Robin Williams, Joan Rivers, Maya Angelou, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Shirley Temple, Lauren Bacall, Casey Kasem, Tony Gwynn, Russell Johnson and Don Pardo.
