FBI Dismisses Report Of Hijacking Aimed At Miley Cyrus Concert

After authorities arrested a teenage boy in Nashville, Tennessee, who said he was planning to highjack a commercial jetliner in order to commit suicide, details of a plot to crash the plane into a Miley Cyrus concert has surfaced, according to a report by CNN.

“His stated intent was to hijack the airplane and commit suicide,” said George Bolds, an FBI spokesman in Memphis, Tennessee. “He did indicate he intended to die in Louisiana. It appears he had a ticket to Louisiana.”

Two CNN television affiliates in Nashville, WSMV and WTVF, reported the teen wanted to crash the jetliner into the Miley Cyrus concert scheduled for Friday night at the Lafayette Cajundome, according to sources.

The FBI said the teen indicated he lived in Louisiana and allegedly has a ticket to Louisiana from Nashville.

Upon searching the teen’s home, the FBI says authorities found a mock cockpit. However, the FBI dismissed the reports the “Hannah Montana” show was the intended target.

The teen was found with handcuffs, duct tape and a type of rope or yarn, according to the FBI.
